Thanks NewB, quite right and good to point out.

Since the statutory profit does appear to include retirement valuation increases, I suspect we won't be hearing the word "underlying" at this company any more :)

The huge change in the underlying profit, simply because of what is included or not, does make a mockery of the company's figures. Let's hope their asset valuations are not as pliable.
