Seven sells assets to bolster balance sheet and reap profits

KERRY Stokes's Seven Group Holdings has quietly moved to sell some of its portfolio of sharemarket investments to further bolster its balance sheet and crystallise some significant profits on its investments.
It is understood Seven has sold a portion of its stake in the Agricultural Bank of China in the past two months. Seven has previously said its holding in the group was worth about $US250 million ($238m). The proceeds of the sale are expected to be disclosed in Seven's half-year accounts, which will be released in February.
