So what figure would you give for climate sensitivity? I thought the ipcc last report was somewhere in the range of 2 to 4 degrees, with a general consensus of 3 degrees and likelihood of not being below 1.5 degrees. There does not seem to be too much of a consensus on these figures with huge variations in estimates of climate sensitivity depending on which papers you read. Modelling of complicated systems like climate is very difficult I have studied modelling of complex systems as part of an environmental science degree and I would put no weight on ability to accurately calculate these sorts of things. Basic physics tells you will get one degree of warming for a doubling of co2 the rest is dependent on computer modelling of a very complicated climate system. I would be very sceptical of anyone thinking they can calculate any of this stuff with any certainty. Do you think that makes me a denier, I think it just makes me a realist.
