Given the environment it is actually not a too bad deal.

I thought financial close was end of the financial year?

If you google mining equipment there is plenty for sale- at a good discount... A 10% stAke by a JV parter may result with further capex reductions....

As for keeping the price down, yes I think we are still being manipulated by the short sellers - take today for example, we hit 74c just before close and then in the 10min snap at the close of market and back down to 73- no gain for the day...

Only way to get rid of the shorts is to take the reasons away.... Just check out fmg - with the help of thE short sellers stock went down to below 3$, now around $4.50...

I think the volatility will remain till the fiscal cliff gets sorted, kind of wish I had taken some cash off the table a couple of years ago ( don't we all)..

I will spend some time charting whc against cpl in terms of market cap versus stage of development and see how we compare...
