The Lamp was built in Malaysia because of: (a) 12 year tax break (b) lower labour costs
The downside to this has been :- (1) 8 months delay of LAMP due to litigation. (2) Politicisation of LAMP leading up to Malayian election.
Litigation over the past 8 months has been in favour of LYC and LAMP is now firing-up. These legal decisions will benefit LYC should there be change of Government (not likely) in 2013.
The stock is still speculative because of unknowns. The major unknowns will be resolved once the LAMP starts selling product (likely Mar 2013), that the elections are over & that the TOL becomes a permanent operating licence. The price of the LYC basket and cost of production are also important unknowns.
