and I thought I was the only one that lost interest years ago...if I have seen one, I have seen it all

going by the media, every single man and his dog, was either out there watching, or glued to the TV...
    except me of course
it must be the atmosphere I am missing ?
I can understand the fascination for the small children
    but not every year ?

anyway in the good old days, we had a huge supply and let off our own crackers....
apparently there are still a stack of people doing the same today....lots of complaints in SW Sydney, with neighbours complaining some sounded like bombs going off

the year we stopped, somehow a big container full of sky rockets, caught alight, the skyrockets exploded in all directions, some skooting along the ground, and others a metre high, went horizontally around corners....luckily no one was hurt or injured, but it scared the living daylights out of all of us...

I am inclined not to do whatever the big crowds do..
for whatever reason I just don't get it, ie being part of the crowd...
or doing what the media suggests...'everyone is doing it'
