The wages of politicians over the years have repudetly been too llow to attract talent. What we have now is that the pay is that good that worldwide we have an unanticipated consequence. Those in power are more concerned about winning elections , more so than ever, and the media has promoted this farce with the result that substance and issues are of no consequence.

In the Aussie context property is critical in revenue raising and the feeling of wellbeing with constituents that all will be done to retain the status quo. No reform , just more of the same .
