I care about King Island, but damned if I am going up against the mob, or a mod view...
my 2 cents worth....
For those using the deaths to promote a view, I think they should consider just how many elderly people die from the heat and the cold, because they cannot afford to pay the high energy costs, which subsidises the green energy, money for nothing scam. Or do the hundreds of deaths of the elderly not matter. There were over 300 deaths in Perth one summer. I do not believe anyone cares enough, about how the elderly people fare.
All I would like to add, wind power is not suitable for every piece of land...or everywhere in the world, let alone
Australia.
As an example I have a 'green' aunt, she is elderly, and lives in an area that gets a lot of wind....it is only 1.5 hours travel from my patch on the NSW/ VIC border.I doubt the wind there is much more than a good breeze, certainly nothing like the roaring 40's as per the description given to Bass Strait.
She is very close to a large dairy farming community, and even she is against the wind turbines. She says the cows are sensitive animals, and are upset by the loud noises. The cows go off, do not produce the milk under stressful conditions.
I can count the number of days each month, when there is any breeze here, let alone wind..
In the period April 15 to October 15 this year, after the first frost arrived, and I had to monitor my lemon tree...
I noted only 5 days when we had some wind, I doubt it would have been strong enough to generate a wind turbine, plus it only lasted a couple of hours max.
In that 6 month period, there were very few days of sunshine, maybe 14 days in total, and the sun rarely shone all day. It was overcast and freezing cold for most of the 6 months.
So am not sure how the solar panels fared under these conditions.
It was very unusual weather, and I would go mad if I had to go through weather like that again.
Note I have moved back to Albury after living in Melb for over 25 years.
I am ready to pack up and head back to Melbourne, where the weather is milder, less extreme.
I wonder if you sent some of the city people, out to live in the country for 6 months, would they change their view.
It is very different sitting behind a desk, in a city, where there are no wind turbines to affect you, your home, your health, or your income or way of life.
ps, this is just friendly banter, and utilising my ability for freedom of speech.
