    Hi Ophir and all,

I notice without much fanfare that the CME has lowered the cost of going long on paper gold by 9% or more important the cost of keeping the gold price contained by going short by using paper contracts has been made more attractive.

No Biggles not paranoia just healthy scepticism. Next they will be making it illegal to short stocks on the DOW. There’s usually some kind of unintentional consequences with these moves. As no specific reason appears to have been given I wonder if we can read this as just another desperate action by the powers that be.

With $85 Billion of freshly printed dollars out of fresh air each month and Japan also increasing their efforts there should be plenty of cash flying around looking for a home in 2013

I was wondering the other day in New York is the guy living rough on his blanket over the sub way grill better or worse off than the guy in his home in the suburbs $200,000.00 underwater on his mortgage, with his credit card maxed out and his kids still living at home because they are loaded up with education loans with no jobs to be had. Just thinking!

$85 Billion freshly printed dollars out of fresh air would buy those people sitting over the sub way grills a lot of homes at $4,000.00 a pop in Detroit, it would tidy up New York and it’s hardly going to lower the standards in Detroit. Come on Uncle Ben show some heart after all the bankers won’t miss a paltry $85 Billion for one month!

One thing I’ll say for 2013 I doubt many of us on these threads will find it boring.

Happy New Year cheers and very best regards: Andy
