i agree. although I would have hoped for better in 2012? in the November update they forecast "in excess of $1,000M" and also allowed $250M for catastrophic losses in the last 6 weeks of the year, which I don't think would have been used. I know that analysts are suspicious of QBE now, but I would have thought the new CEO would err on the side of caution with that announcement, considering the contents, and we might be able to report $1.1-1.2Bn? With 1.1Bn shares outstanding that would be $1-1.1 per share, giving 70-76c div based on the 70% previously announced - so maybe a 20-26c interim?
we have experienced much pain with QBE over the last few years, and although on many other occasions it has looked like the bottom, things do feel better now. lets hope you are right.
