99.9% of the community are unaware of how many serious offenders are on the streets.
you could carpet the floor of the court with their record sheets with some of these individuals. pages after pages of crimes ( a lot of them serious indictable ), one after another over many years.
previously they would have no chance of bail or allowed to be paroled or would be incarcerated until they would prove that they were going to be no threat to the community.
if a criminal knew that he was going to receive a lengthy sentence for numerous offences and he knew that by committing more these wouldn`t increase his sentence then wouldn`t this be an incentive to do more crime?
well ....that`s exactly what`s happening.
hundreds of criminals on the street committing offence after offence and the courts continue to put them back out there time after time.
we only have to look at some recent murder/rapes including Jill Meagher in Melbourne to realise that offenders that shouldn`t any where near a community let alone walking around undetected amongst our families and friends.
we are building a generation of individuals and gangs that have utter contempt for authority.
very dangerous indeed. be very careful who you engage as these guys dont have warning lights on there heads or anything that displaying their potential. they are walking amongst us and waiting to pounce given the first possible opportunity.
