Gold started raising early last decade well before any QE, GFC, fiscal cliffs etc....
Gold has been trending higher because of financial instability and debt running wild , not QE specifically . This instability and debt/credit bubble is very likely to continue for many more years to come .
As per QE specifically - Many fed members once said there would be no QE3 - but we got it . I wouldn't talk anything they say too literally .
Not too many options at there disposal other than QE type measures
