Because it seems like a very logical outcome to me.
Yes Australia may bowl the Poms out for a low score leaving enough time for Australia to win the match
But
the poms could also play very defensively and take 2/3 of the day to score another 100 to 150 runs leaving Australia a couple of hours to score 300 plus runs.
