Hi lelelala, when I talk about styles I am talking about different charting techniques. Some chartists might use technical indicators like moving averages, bollinger bands, adx group etc while others might use other techniques like Elliot wave, gann, or candle stick analysis. Others might use the raw data and study market manipulation techniques used by institutions and try to follow their footprints hidden within the price and volume on the chart. There are many different ways to crack an egg when it comes to charting, and generally speaking the good chartists specialize in only one or two areas. There are plenty that have a knowledge and understanding of all the styles/techniques mainly because they would have spent many years working their way through all of the styles looking for the one that fit them the best.
I can recommend a few books for you that will give you a general idea on a lot of styles, but in no way shape or form will you be ready to trade after reading these books. They will just be an ice breaker for you, and you should be able to narrow down the area/s that interest you.
The first couple you should look at reading are written by an Aussie fella named Leon Wilson (just google his name and you will find his books). Leon gives a pretty decent rundown on a lot of the more popular indicators etc and is written well for beginners. The second is a book called master the markets by Tom Williams, Tom studies raw data and market manipulation. You can also google VSA or volume spread analysis, and maybe even a fella called Richard wyckoff.
Another big player in the charting world is candle stick analysis, I have not earned my stripes in this area so I can't recommend any texts but I am sure someone else here can.
And dont worry too much if there are a few words in my post that you dont quite understand, After working through a few texts you will be able to find your way...
