I'm entirely humourless. Live export trade from this country was stopped for better or worse last year in rsponse to a documentary. The practice hadn't changed, merely the coverage of that practice. The profile of people concerned by animal welfare issues is changing from "emotional" teenage girls and political radicals to more conservative people. It's evident in other areas. The horse racing industry has changed whip rules and is attempting to introduce programs where retired race horses are retrained rather than killed for dog food. They're not doing it from the goodness of their hearts. They can see where public opinion is going. Towards animal welfare.
