"asserting that the private sector always does it better, is able and willing to put up the capital and always acts in the best interests of society."
Lappy thanks for the feedback,I didnt get that at all, indeed the orginal article spoke about, that the freemarket doesnt always get it right. It focused on the ABC childcare debacle, where upon Rudd gaining power, the state had to step in and sort out the mess which private enterprise created in regards to child daycare services in this country.
Why I bothered posting the link is because it poses the right questions?
Should Abbott gain power, what will he do? In my words, will he be man or a mouse in terms of what leglislation will he preside over, country making or just electoral appeasement. I suspect the latter and not the former.
Have you noticed that Hockey is now silent on the end of entitlement? If one was to objectively look at my overall undertone in my posts,is that IMHO massive and far reaching reform is required. I dont beleive the status quo can or will deliver an overall benefit for all Australians into the future. Nibbling at the edges is neither a worthy or compelling alternative to outright systemic root and branch overhaul of our systems.
So if Thatcher turned the world upside down, will abbott copy her?,I dont think so,his past says it all Lappy. Oh his supporters will bang on about surpluses and boarder protection, but as the saying goes Lappy,"its the economy stupid". There are many flaws in it as I see it,its time to reward work and savings at the expence of investing. There are supposedly 139 taxes in this country, and only nine which really generate any meaningful money, much can be done to simplify this rediculous system, where only accountants seem to win.
