It's not so much hoping my valuation (or anyone elses) is about right.
When you look at the sp volatility over the last year, it becomes fairly obvious that valuation doesn't matter too much in the short term, but looking at the sp over a few years, the valuation eventually does come into play.
That has been reflected in the strong long term uptrend.
