Leaders: You make a lot of suppositions. How do you know where we'd be if Julie Bishop's plan had been followed?Oh wait you've got that special sliding machine, that takes you into alternate universes and you visited a world where her advice was taken. There was 25% unemployment and it was complete anarchy.
You assume that everything is ok now because of Rudd's actions.
My argument is we are ok now because there was never a major problem here to begin with.Your boy Rudd panicked.
Sure there was a lot of fear especially on the market and many people were worried and in my mind much of that fear was exacerbated by Rudd himself. How many times during that period was kevin rudd seen on the TV quoting the soundbite"GREATEST ECONOMIC CRISIS OF OUR LIFETIMES".
He made sure he repeated that enough times so that it got into the national psyche.Probably thinking ahead so when it was time for the next election. He could tell us how he saved us from the greatest economic crisis of our lifetimes.
Talk about head in the sand. You can't prove to me that anything Rudd did actually improved things.Actually what did it bring us?Pink batts scandals, unusable school tuck shops etc.
What the labor government did bring us was sovereign risk.Something virtually unknown in Australia until this government.
I googled Kevin Rudd addresses US Congress couldnt find a thing mate or do you mean he held a press conference.
A little like Swannies latest effort admonishing world leaders. As I implied before Australian politicians are legends in their own minds.Especially labor ones.
Head in the sand?Let me repeat,WE were never in any real trouble. Our banks were strong our economy was strong. Our real estate market was strong.WE were only ever in an imagined danger
