Martin Bryant had an IQ of 66, way, way below normal. It is a wonder he could work out how to load and unload the rifle, let alone actually hit and kill 35 people and injure many others.
So what if he is said to have admitted he did it, he probably didn't understand what he was admitting to. No trial either if my memory serves me right.
