How true that cpl doesn't always behave as it should. A while back my sources told me things were well on t rack for a great February and march. The senior debt facility was part of that.....4 more things need to happen to hit feb/march plans....

Sadly if you look at the timeline (and the sp) it looks like JV may take a little longer. Surely if 2 parties were close to an agreement then the word would be out there- funds and insiders would be soaking up the stock.

Another thing on the shorts- take a look at fmg. An example of short behaviour, not sure if you can draw a parallel - however with the turnaround fmg still as a decent short position over its stock.,,,,

For cpl, the path to production is 1.5 to 2 years!!! No guarantee the shorts will close out - in that case we need decent long term funds and institutions to come into the stock- and in my opinion that is the only thing that will kick the sp back up towards $2 without the shorts closing out.
