There are reasonable tidal marks that are quite old, one being in Tas, Port Arthur? Obviously it isn't accurate to tenths of a mil, but they know how it was derived and can repeat that and get a new "standard" tide. It is rising!
My argument is that the rise has been slow and steady for a couple of centuries at least, ergo, that rise is not correlated to CO2. The AGW theory tells us that the rise should be ACCELERATING as the CO2 concentrations continue to rise. They are not.
There are accurate readings to cover the last 20 years which is, by coincidence, the period where this increased rate of rise should have shown itself. I refer to the SEAFRAME measuring stations operated by the BOM. These stations allow for all those things you mentioned.
If you have some spare time try to find the ACTUAL readings. It ain't easy but enlightening when you get there. It is my belief that because they don't support the doom 'n gloom stories BOM and CSIRO prefer to spread, they try to pretend that they don't exist.
They have measuring stations on Pacific and Indian Ocean islands as well which prove beyond doubt that islands are NOT being swamped. Why doesn't BOM tell us that instead of this alarmism we have heard all week that we will all drown?
