Having reflected on history, Malcolm Fraser has morphed into one of Australia's elder statesmen. He has earned the respect of the broader political spectrum.
Even if you are correct and Fraser is a 'has been'; that's along way in front of someone whose contribution to our history will likely be even more derided than that of our most profligate PM, JWH. He's on track to be remembered as the acerbic dummy-spitter who tried to paralyse the government during the GFC and its aftermath.
Indeed, should he lose the 2013 election, Abbott will feature at the lead of the pack labelled 'Never Was'.
