The consensus in Washington is that congress will lift the debt limit to facilitate govt payments for another 3 months.
Republicans are trying to shift the talks from debt limit defaults to spending cuts on social security and other govt programmes.
For Qbe in the short term, this should ease concerns of a stock price crash.
