Just a quick reminder - a gun is commonly described by all as a weapon. A car is commonly described as a vehicle designed for the purpose of traveling from one point to another.

...now trying to somehow equate the kids dying from US gun massacres with kids dying of starvation in Africa. Yes, the common thread is they both died in very sad ways and indeed, many many times more kids die of starvation in poor countries, but trying to tie one scenario in with the other - nutter goes loose and murders kids with an automatic weapon vs kids dying cruelly of starvation - and where the focus of effort should be, well hajji, I need to use your own comment - "some people have such a pathetic inability to evaluate things."

"Tell me any of you anti-gun people. How many African children would you let die to bring back the 20 US kids?"

What has this comment 'got to do with the price of fish'?

This is a great example of how the "tin hatters" divert a topic.

YES - it is not the gun's fault - it is the people's fault.

Okay, so, following the argument, what would you suggest we do to fix the problem with guns???? i.e. the people? Would you agree to crack down HARD? Would you agree that the govt should know

With cars, we have random breath and drug tests. We have all sorts of programs and we should do more. All cars are registered and drivers are registered.

Okay, where do we start with guns? Background checks for all? An ownership register of everyone who owns a gun (just like a car)? When someone sells or disposes of a gun, then ownership changes, just like a car. I bet the answer is "NO - that's an invasion of our civil rights"
