NMR's update this month on its activities included progress on the Takatokwane thermal coal project in Botswana and progress on negotiations on several brownfields oppurtunities in Africa.
The draft Mining options study indicates a two-stage coal developement scenario is the optimum for its big six-billion-tonne plus thermal coal resource,involving a stage one opencast,followed by a stage two underground operation for premium coal.
NMR should announce some news on its diversification strategy,which we beleive will be well received by the market.
