Excellent post, I cut and pasted these lines for emphasis.

I still firmly believe we are at a point where the development of RE's are a similar story to early microprocessor development. At that time the microprocessor was introduced as the engine in a calculator. The "visionary" engineers of the day commented... yeah, the calculator is pretty cool but they speculated that Intel would never sell enough calculators to recoup the development costs of the microprocessor…

RE's are just the same stuff only there are 17 RE's and each RE has a plethora applications of its's own…
