sounds like the editorial was penned by Andrew Bolt, tabloid journo of (ill) repute.
You could do worse than spending some time looking at the Atlantic Council of the United States http://www.acus.org for a more balanced considered view. Certainly an improvement over the Herald Sun.
Its now more than ever that we need a functioning UN. If it appears inept thats possibly due to the complexity of the issues, and the requirement to give due process rather than incompetence.
Im not too keen on the alternatives, which are.....?
