its a bad assumption to assume all stocks have insiders and instos in the know who will pump on announcement.
Hundreds of times a year, companies will announce and you get a decent opportunity to jump in prior to the big rise. Johnno, John435, Strauss all have pretty good records of this.
I agree with being a cynic and always looking at things critically, but there are opportunities that the Big Boys miss :)
