Twenty five years ago, at university, at post-graduate level the following was taught, with science in depth behind it:

1) the earth's orbit is an ellipse, with the sun at one focus

2) the earth spins around an axis, and that axis changes with time

3) the earth rotates in a plane, and the angle of that plane changes with time as well.

All taught by hard science: astronomy and physics. Not lulu statistics. Never confuse 'correlation' with 'cause and effect'

That is what drives long term (>20,000 y) climate change.

What drives the current puerile coverage is more related to ambit calls from researchers on the public purse: (no grant = no career)..and the 24hr media cycle, fear and greed, bread and circuses..

There is nothing to be done about climate change, if you don't like where you are, sell up and move to a better (short)term climate. The carpetbaggers will be waiting for you.
