I find it hillarious that despite the media/Blindy Bondy treatment of the Arckaringa basin, the Arrowie Basin (which NVG holds ground over) is more prospective for Shale Oils/Gas.

So to recap:
Is the Arckaringa mature? NO.
Is the Arckaringa within the oil or gas window? LOW (if you squint at the numbers long enough) chance that it is in the oil window. NO for the gas window. The Sep 2011 LNC announcement clearly states this is the case, but Bondy is completely ignoring it in his latest P&D effort.

Is the Arrowie mature? YES.
Is the Arrowie within the oil or gas window? YES and YES.

The TOC values so far for the Arrowie are on the low side of the scale and hence the source rock is poor. But that doesn't rule out the chance that other parts of the basin maybe richer in organic material.
