Drove this stretch of I-10 today heading back to Dallas from New Orleans. Not many pump jacks visible from the highway. Those that are, are stationary and rusted. Seem to be abandoned from the LA oil boom from back in the 80s.. More water than dry land. In fact this part of I-10 is actually a bridge. Amazing part of the US.
