Big Pharma were closing down their antibiotics programs so thats why they showed no interest in purchasing others. Biota made a contrarian investment.
Big Pharma didnt like antibiotics for precisely the same broad reason they don't like most of the drugs Biota develops - they only need to be taken for a limited time. Big Pharma love drugs people need to take daily, preferably for the rest of their lives. You know all this anyway.
And this might tie into our perennial weak share price.
Big Pharma don't find our products sexy enough = no licenses = people start to wonder about the value of those programs = no blue sky for the pipeline = crap share price.
