I can't see it myself because I think Turnbull would be seen as a risk. He'd campaign on the economy but he'd also have a republic, gay marriage and an ETS/carbon tax on his agenda, which are divisive in the Liberal Party. I think he'd annihilate the ALP carrying that agenda but much of his own party opposes it and would prefer a timid ALP to win rather that an emboldened socially liberal Liberal.
