Kaplan is also a major shareholder and a very close pall of Mr Gemender. He is getting older, however I doubt that any major M&A with PACT will occur in the near future. this is not to say that PPG will stop its acreative acquisition strategy in industrial products.
It will have to decide what it needs to do about its rigid plastics business as this is a direct competitor to the PACT group.
Don't be surprised if the manufacturing is shut down and moved to PACT and PPG ends up being a pure wholesaler.
