    moondoong, I think that is a very real possibily and IMO that will happen as I can't see Abbott improving his image. Abbott has lead the libs for 4 years now, lost the last election and as much as Gillard is not popular Abbott is even less so.

    The three most likely alternatives are Turnbull, Hockey and Bishop but I think the latter two would not have enough time to put their stamp on the position now.

    Turnbull on the other hand is already hugely popular with voters and the Lib's could be very confident he would give them a big boost in the polls and lead to a big victory.

    If/when Turnbull takes the lead that would put real pressure on labor and a possible return to Rudd but I think labor would be very reluctant and again, anyone else would have little time to put a stamp on the position.
