    Chocco54, I believe there is a flaw in your argument. You refer to serious allegations about Former Speaker Peter Slipper and yet Abbott will accept his vote in Parliament. Double standards there.

    On Mary Jo fisher she resigned in order to better deal with her health issues. A totally different case.

    The reality is that on past precedent and for good reasons you are not forced to resign until you have been convicted of a serious criminal offence. This prevents false allegations being used to manipulate the numbers in parliament.
