Just because the Irish are good natured and cop the 'stupid' Irish jokes on the chin, does not make the jokes any less racist, or any less offensive. And, I'm not being sarcastic.
If you had written such a racist joke and replaced the Irishman with any other nationality, it would have been moderated.
And no, I'm not Irish. My husband is though, and I'm so sick of borish, loud-mouthed, bogan Aussies telling him their latest 'dumb' Irish joke that they expect him to laugh at. They always look somewhat embarrassed when I tell them he has a Phd.
