I noticed we traded on 'NS' for quite some time during the bid, I believe that means that 'No shorting' (or 'Specials'??) are allowed while under takeover bid. But I hadn't noticed that status of late. Could the event funds have been shorting, and if so I'd hope to see some short covering on Monday as it seems that trading stopped before the bid withdrawal came out.
Maybe there has been no shorting all along so this will be irrelevant. Just checked ASX website, there were only 621,493 short positioned shares 31/01/2013, that was the latest data.
Again, if SRK and KPMG stated that their $1.74 - $2.11 valuation didn't need updating based on the news, I'd like to think there's some value down under $1.20. Maybe there'll be some fun and games by those with some clout, a little shake out this week, I'd like to think we'll some some price appreciation this week or the following, depending on the wider market sentiment too, index is overdue for some mild contraction.
