figs- glorious figs, page-23

Can't believe what happened today. Needed something for the house and thought would revisit a little shop I had discovered a while back where the shop owner served me scones and cream and a gorgeous cup of coffee.
Don't remember how but the subject of figs came up, and she too loved figs, and said if you look over there by the fence you will see a fig tree with lots of overhanging branches and thats where I get my supply from. Went over and had a look but all the ripe ones were too high for me to reach. So got a chair and took it over there and started to grab a high branch full of ripe figs when I felt a presence next to me and then I saw an arm reach up and grab the figs. THIS MAN just came from nowhere, stripped the branch clean and walked off.Not a word- unbelievable. Manners maketh man!!!!!!
PS. I still managed to find some, shared them with her, purchased 2 items, and when I came home and unwrapped them found she had given me 2 free of charge.
