Turkey has a population growth rate of 1.02% , the U.S, 0.89%, released on the CIA website. So going by the figures US population has more than doubled whereby Turkish population growth rates are higher but population has only increased by 40% in comparison?
China is also in the same boat. Australia has a higher population growth rate than the US as it ranks at 0.94%.
None the less, I take your point. But the true picture will be proven in 50 years.. we may have a WWIII followed by another baby boom, who knows?
I think current figures carry more weight, speculated figures 50 years away is crystal ball gazing as on going risks like health breakouts, war and who knows what else will surely play a part globally. The US populated at 500 million sounds like humans living like a can of sardines, I wonder if Australia will get any Yankee visitors in the forseeable future.
