look at page 18. read the highlights of the full-year result and check the underlying performance table. i'm no accountant and maybe i'm reading it wrong, but please show me how you came up with "The premium brand is being downsized to expand the jetstar budget operation that doesnt make a profit!"
pre 1992, qantas was just a full service airline with only international routes. today, it incorporates a full service airline with international, domestic and regional routes and a budget airline with international and domestic routes. how is qantas now "a mere skeleton of its former self"?
