Hi Sabbath, my S.M.S.F. ended up paying NO Taxation because losses in Shares on the A.S.X.; busted it, so please feel lucky Your S.M.S.F. needs to pay 15% Taxation on just its earnings. From my perspective the Superannuation system is not 'so Super' and the Government should be more actively involved with A.S.X.goings on, like short selling of Shares etc.. The Government should also have an active involvement in the form of Grants to exploration Companies. The the other thing which should be available from Superannuation in some form, is an ability to withdraw some Superannuation Funds to reduce Mortgage debt.
