Electrical storms and machinary do not mix well. Usually diggers, dump trucks etc, that are hit are usually quarenteened for several days, as the lightening can cause internal fires with in the wheels of such vechicals and can potentially burn for days. These tires may appear fine from the outside while actually being on fire on the inside. A bit of a strange phonominom.

It certainly does appear as they they are having some wet weather by there forcasts. But from my experiance in the tropics, there weathermen are about as good at picking the weather as tattslotto. It's a bit of a joke in the NT that meterorology department only does 2 days work a year, for the dryseason they predict 32-33 fine and sunny, wet season they predict 33-34 with clouds and afternoon storms. We've had these predictions since mid december and still no propper rain. :P we were also suposed to get a cyclone over christmas but that didnt happen :(, dissapointing really, would have been nice to catch some waves at the beach.
