Excuse the interruption but I partly agree with this comment.The federal government should not have become involved at all in a complex commercial market, nor should they have tried to "pick a winner".
It's not the responsibility of a government, except in socialist economies, to make risky "investments". That's the job of private capital. The government should have provided the incentives to those who actually know what they're doing to provide fast speed broadband nationally.
That they didn't speaks volumes about the business nous of a government comprised largely of union hacks and officials.
