    Yup...

    And that is part of the problem...

    Further to that of course...

    When you mix these generally tiny, lightweight, fragile electric vehicles on the same roads with big SUVs, trucks and current more standard gasoline powered vehicles, you can guess who is going to come off the worst from the inevitable accidents that can happen...

    Even a relatively minor fender-bender with a doctor's wife in her massive, small-truck size 4wd or a hoon in his hotted up and altered roadster, can leave your fragile and light weight electric vehicle with massive, maybe write-off-level damages and you with permanent injury or death while the occupents of the other vehicle hardly notice the small (to them) bump...

    One day, if and when all vehicles on the road are of similarly light weight construction and with built-in, automatic and ever-vigilent vehicle collision avoidence systems of some sort, then it might make sense, but right now I dont see much advantage in being a early adopter, even if only from the personal and family safety aspect, apart from the many other aspects of overal suitability...
