home solar was not viable 10 years ago, became viable with subsidies and now with higher electricty cost, inprovments in technology and production has become viable without subsidies.

The reason we have higher electricity costs is because of the subsidies and the carbon tax.

It's one of those chicken and egg things, some just don't see where the cycle started or maybe choose not to.
