don't get me wrong - i agree with derham that SD would be about to loose it's face acting this way but:

a possible scenario would be that they acquire lots of struggeling companies now reducing the free cash at high speed. (CRE type acquisitions). i'd suggest the 'ride for us SHs' in this scenario would lead the SP to hell with a TO offer at the end we all would/could not refuse ... (or they could dillute us to hell, or, or, or.)

But - as i said - this would be a short term play for SD in australia as other goldies would suddenly be aware that SD is a black knight with a white cape - and i'd guess they are not positioned short term down under ...
