You DO realise the energy required to shift a 55t semi full of wheat up and down hills at 100km/hr? A bank of heavy batteries is not something you want to be footing the freight bill for every km you drive on top of an already costly tare weight.

The only trend that is certain in trucks is that more and more aluminium is being used in rims and bulk bin infrastructure to lighten tare weight and increase the amount of paying weight you can legally get on each trip.

In the US trucks are getting carried by trains for large parts of their transcontinental journey.
