I won’t labour the point, and I just tried to call Mencel, but I think we’re on the same page here.

IFE has been endorsed by the SA Govt, via sponsorship, to have their proposal to create a bulk storage facility assessed under Section 49 of the Development Act 1993 (which means the development must be occurring on Crown land, as this is what Section 49 deals with).

As stated in this morning’s announcement (note the ‘if approved’ in brackets):

• Buffer storage facility (if approved) will eliminate need for approximately 3,000 custom built containers.

the request to develop the storage facility has now being sponsored by the SA govt (as required to proceed with assessment), and due to the fact that IFE have pre-emptively created environmental and technical impact reports, IFE are expecting an assessment decision within the ‘normal’ 3 month period.

I agree that the sponsorship appears to be implicit support by the SA govt and is therefore a pretty strong positive. BUT, that point may not have any bearing on the assessment decision.
