Your adroit assessment may be on the money,but given their relatively short time in Parliament,they may go with Rudd,and if he fails(should he win selection) they can pick up the baton(s).
Again that Rudd lead them to victory,instead of knifing him straight away,they should have tried rehabilitating him.
Had he mended his ways,all well and good,if not gillard would have "earnt legitimacy",through exercising restraint and patience.
Power is a heady elixir,drink it if you can.
